The politicians love to rail on and on about how the public pensions are "out of control", "need to be reformed", and "will eventually bankrupt cities and towns". What they will never admit to is that they are the reason the pensions and the economy is in the shitter. The politicians ignore the laws and leave pension plans un-funded, even after resolutions are passed in the face of financial troubles to fund them. Politicians in DC have borrowed against Social Security, yet blame the increase of people drawing from it for the looming insolvency. It is high time that the politicians put their money where their mouths are. If they are going to "reform" any pensions, theirs should be at the top of the list. Not only do they make obscene amounts of money for doing a "job" that is incredibly inefficient, and with no risk whatsoever, they have the audacity to place the blame their financial mistakes and mismanagement on the very people that risk their lives every time they put the uniform on and step out the door. Our police officers, firefighters, EMTs/paramedics, and members of the armed forces do not ask for much. The vast majority would just like to be left alone to do their job and live their life in peace, with maybe an occasional "thank you" from the politicians and public that lauds them after a success, yet is quick to blame them for every perceived problem in government. It takes a special type of person to put up with a job where in the vast majority of cases a single "Aw shit" can erase a thousand "Atta Boys(and Girls)".

Henry Family 'Disgusted' By Officer Of Year Honors - Boston News Story - WCVB Boston
Henry Family 'Disgusted' By Officer Of Year Honors - Boston News Story - WCVB Boston
How well the kid did academically (or whether his being a "star athlete through high school and college" may have 'helped' his grades), has nothing to do with the actions of a drunk that hit the cop with the car. If he was "moving his car like the cops told him to" and "the cop just stood in front of the car", and "he was only going 10MPH", there is one incredible easy thing even drunk people can do, it's called STOPPING THE FUCKING CAR!!!! If he would've stepped on the break pedal instead of accelerating and running down the cop, he would have been detained, maybe had a few tickets written, and worst case, gotten a DUI. But, he hit the cop, was justifiably shot as a result, and perished. The moral of the story is PLAY STUPID GAMES, WIN STUPID PRIZES!!!!

Jeremy Fraser finally has justice. This being MA though, even if she is sentenced to the maximum, she'll be out in 10 years, 15 tops, as opposed to the life sentence she deserves.

Thoughts on the almost government shut down
People see all sorts of random "post this on your (facebook)status for one hour" chain messages that go around, but never actually make a difference. Well here's one message that, if enough people post it, will make a difference. If the 2008 and 2010 elections have taught us anything, it's the following. The politicians (both Democrat and Republican) will tell all the sheeple whatever it takes to get votes, but in the end it is business as usual with the petty political squabbles, and contests of who can waste the taxpayer's money in the most idiotic way possible. One side via the various "welfare" programs that has turned this country into a group of people unable to be self-sufficient, and only able to survive on the government dole. The other side with various government subsidies that supposedly are going to jumpstart the economy, but only end up enriching those that are already rich beyond all imagination. Both sides' agendas continue to be carried out at the expense of the working man. Well, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!! It is time to put a limit on all welfare programs. If after 1 year you have not done so much as flip burgers at BK or McDonalds, tough luck. Oh, and you have to pass random drug tests, just like the rest of the people that actually work for their money. 1 positive test=rehab and a reduction in aid and mandatory weekly testing. 2nd positive test within 6 months=Mandatory revocation of all aid. And for those of you that think I may be biased, there should be a limit on government subsidies of corporations. They should be directly proportional to the % of the jobs in a company are in the USA, as well as the mean wages for said jobs, with the exception of the company elite. If you take too many jobs overseas, or cut pay/lay off too may people=bye bye government subsidies and tax breaks. Also, the 27th Amendment to the Constitution should be amended to affect that in the event the government "shuts down", there will be NO STOPPAGE OR REDUCTION IN PAY for the armed forces. If anything, each congress member and the President should be fined $2500 per day of the shut down. Also, any increase in pay for politicians should automatically trigger an increase in pay of an equal percentage to all military personnel. Now I realize this is really long for a status, but if we have learned one thing from the media, it is that social networking sites are being utilized by the politicians, and that they take notice of their constituents' views and opinions. Let's see as many people as possible repost this for at least 1 hour, and let the politicians in Washington know that they have been warned. Put the bull shit partisan politics aside and smarten up, or it will be THEIR turn to be in the unemployment line.
Intro
Hello All:
I am pretty new to this whole writing without being forced to. I am a 21 year old college student, EMT, sports fan, and purveyor of interesting information, currently living in the People's Republic of Massachusetts (PRM). If I had to state my political stance, I'd say I am a conservative leaning moderate member of The Rent Is Too Damn High Party. I will probably post things from a bunch of different topics. Mostly comment on current events, some EMS topics, professional sports, the idiocy that is the People's Republic, and whatever the hell pops into my head that sounds good. I think I'll run a reciprocal blog roll with the caveat that if the topic of a blog is totally against my beliefs, I may decline the link. Running out of ideas on what to say, so I'll shut up now.
